Re: Fuel tank switching valve?

not hard just have to pay attention to what hose goes where, a gear wrench will come in very handy for this job. Also so that you dont waste a lot of gas like i did a dealer is the only place i could get one here in tulsa maybe you can get one on-line but i dont know, mine from gm was around $55.00 give or take a few bucks.

80Chevy4x4-

If it's not too late call Sam Taylor's Buick Cadillac in Florida and ask for Jason Comer in the Parts Department. I needed a 6-port, multi-wire valve and got the AC/Delco valve from him. I gave around $60 for it plus shipping. His prices are very reasonable.

Re: Fuel tank switching valve?

118.00 holy crap thats high, i just called the dealer here and he quoted me around the same the have almost doubled in about a year. i am glad mine went out when it did b/c i would have prolly not fixed it back to factory if it was that price then. well i guess i will go out and get the one on the old frame i have still laying around and put in a safe place incase i need one later on in life and hope like heck it still works.

Re: Fuel tank switching valve?

Dealer item only. Someone is selling them on e-bay for around $35 or so,
but the quality may be very poor. Thats an item I wouldn't really want to
take a gamble on. I just replaced mine a couple weeks ago. GM Delco part,
cost me around $114.00.

It's easy to change out like others mentioned. Just make sure to swap one line over at a time. If you call Sam Taylor's Cadillac talk to Jason. I got my ZZ4 from him.

Re: Fuel tank switching valve?

that one that is sold off ebay is not the correct item for our trucks it is a universal single wire hookup. not the 6-7 pin weather pack that you need.. been there done that..

Re: Fuel tank switching valve?

Here's an image of the GM Delco unit I installed a couple weeks ago.

Simple install. Just make sure you don't cross the lines. While your
under there, be sure to check the rubber fuel lines, and the steel
lines too, if your truck is rusty like mine.

Oh yeah, before you do anything, test the incoming power supply
to the valve to make sure it's getting a signal,( you may have to
bump the dash rocker switch to the opposite tank).
