HO72 Rebuild Kit?
Does anybody have the part numbers to do a rebuild on the 'Third Member'/ Center Chunk of an HO72? I want to have this info on hand for the future to do the work on it when necessary. Seems parts for this rear are soon going to be obsolete. I'm just looking for the standard parts that would be needed to replace the carrier bearings, pinion bearings, shim assortment, and necessary seals. I know Randy's Ring and Pinion sells a Master kit but I'm too poor/cheap to pay what he wants for it. I'm thinking there's other ways to skin this cat.
Thanks, 72longbed |

Re: HO72 Rebuild Kit?
There is no cheap way to mess with the guts of an HO52 or HO72 rear end. Most parts have been out of production for many years.
In all reality, you are dollars ahead to replace the whole rear with alater model one. This will make future brake jobs less of a financial burden too... being that they are very expensive too...assuming you can find a parts guy to get you the right parts. |

Re: HO72 Rebuild Kit?
the search function is working again, i suggest you use it. there were just recently 2 big posts about the Eaton axles in 4x4, and both had part #s for different bearings and brake parts.
