What did you get done? Christmas edition
Since this is Christmas day you can report two different ways this week. If you actually got something done to your truck between all the shopping, decorating, tree trimming, and late night secret projects for the family, report on that.
If you were like me and managed to get all your shopping done, and got some cool stuff for Christmas then report on that. What ever you decide lets see some pics if you got em. Merry Christmas y'all....

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition
Btw- This is early because I am going to Grandma's house for the rest of our Christmas celebration. I won't be home till later tonight.....
Oh yeah, what did I get from Santa? I got a lot of new shirts because I asked for them. I hate shopping so this was a great gift. Of course I had to have some new pants to go with the shirts so I got loaded up there too. My buddy Keith (n2billet) sent me some really cool stuff. I got a Cal Custom T-shirt, and a very cool clock/Thermometer/Hygrometer set that looks like billet gauge cluster from the "John Bull Garage" I also got a big shipment of pictures from Keith. A lot of them will be posted later. He has been very active during his Christmas break putting a complete new suspension under his latest project. I won't spoil it for him, but expect a bunch of pictures later.

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition
I may have found a frame, so work on Lucky 13 can start, I can't wait. I got some old 80's movies, and some CD's from the White Stripes, now I get to spend all my money on the truck, oh boy.

I didn't get anything truck related done at all. I will be on vacation till the 3rd so I plan to get going again on the truck!! Santa brought a few goodies for me as well. Nothing to big but got a little cash and some Coolwater and Curve cologne. Happy holidays to all!!

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition
Like Ken said I've been working on my new "project" during my Christmas break. I bought this truck back in March and have been collecting parts as the wallet allowed. This last week I got the frame boxed and C'ed, new axles, bearings and seals installed, modified the trailing arms for my bags and panhard bar. I sand blasted the rear frame clip to the cab and expoxied and painted it, installed all the Air Ride stuff.
I moved to the front and installed all new A-arms, bushings, ball joints, disk brakes, drop spindles. I cleaned the frame up the best I could before I painted it but I will more than likely re-do all that when I start working on the engine compartment. I still need to install the power steering stuff and plumb the brakes to get it rolling again without spilling it's guts on the floor I got all the measurements for the wheels so they will be ordered on Tuesday and that should wipe out the bank account for a little while so the truck will have to wait on the under hood dress up but I can still drive it! Pictures are not that great but as Ken or Scoti will tell you I never take pictures of my projects so this is better than nothing. Last edited by n2billet; 10-29-2006 at 10:28 PM. |

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition
Put a new carb on the truck Chirstmas Eve, runs a lot better, just need to get some small things sorted out. For Chirstmas, I mostly got stuff for the Vette I just got on Halloween day.

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition
I worked Friday & got ready for X-mas on Saturday.
Even though I still had last minute gifts to pick-up & get wrapped on Sat, I got a chance to hang out w/an old long time friend who I haven't spent much time w/in the last few years. It's amazing how time flys by. But we caught up & I even helped fix his 01 MonteCarlo that a local radiator shop screwed up (they shorted something in the electrics when flushing his radiator??). Sunday was spent opening gifts & visiting w/my GF's family. I got a nice e-mail w/some pics of n2billets latest transformer. I can't wait to see it later this week in person. No work on the trucks but I did give the 74 a good long bath on Friday after work cause it reeeeeeeeeeally needed one. I've been riding around the last couple of days w/the oil pan & timing cover for the new(er) 350 I got from N2TRUX waiting for a chance to get them sanded down & get all the surface rust removed so I can prep them for paint. Hopefully I'll get that done today when I wrap things up @ work since it should be a slower paced day.

Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition
I did the usual christmas..(go to 50 different places in 8 hours thing), but a good time was had by all. I managed to get all my shopping done earlier in the week so no last minute stuff for me.
I did manage to score a "cherry" 68 hood and grille on friday...hmmm I wonder where I can use those? Today I tackled the ball joints/tie rod ends on the blazer along with the 4/6 drop. I was defeated however, I managed to get the back done, but only one side of the front before I decided to call it quits. I must be getting old because in my younger days I would have worked on it all night to get it done. Today I decided I had enough and came home and watched a movie with the kids. Oh well, I'll try and finish it tomorrow after work. Pics when its finished. N2 billet, that thing is gonna be SWEET!!! I think Ken needs to get a 67-72 dont you? Re: What did you get done? Christmas edition
I worked like usual other than Christmas Day but that's what you get for being management. I got some clothes, cologne, and Jody and I together got a PS2 and some games. Neither of us have had one so it's a great thing for us.
