Re: Custom Chassis with canti setup

Ceramic Coating will be a great coating to use there. If my budget would have allowed that was the plan with using the manderals once the welding was all done getting it coated Oh well mabye some day......

I cant believe you level of fab skills. How long have you been doing this work ?

Right now I am trying to get a accepted offer on a house that has 2 decent shops and a house that needs huge renovations. So the truck is back to the bottom of the list.

Thanks. I've been messing with cars for 14 years but I really got into fab about 5 years ago when I bagged my Sonoma. I couldn't afford to pay someone to do it so I bought some books and started to read. I also have a friend named Mike Smith who owns California hot rods help me.

Chassis is coming along, looks badass!! I am moving down to the Fresno area, and opening up a new shop. When I get situated, you'll have to come by the shop, so I can check it out. Can't wait to see it when it is done.

Sounds like a plan. I'll be going to Danger Zone in April.

Re: Custom Chassis with canti setup

Well Valleycustom you've proven you're a great craftsman. The workmanship on that frame is awesome. I'll look for it at the March meet in Pleasanton. Your skills are great! What plans on coating the frame? Powder, paint, fullout polish and clear? It's great that you are showing your skills. So many try to keep them a secret and seldom let others see how it was done. Thanks for your contribution to teh hobby. Keep up the great work!

Thank you very much for doing this, and thank you to everyone who asked to re open this. I took the frame off of the table today and I wanted to post the first pictures of the frame on the ground.

Enjoy

Glad to see it is back open

Nice looking set up you have there.
I have one question though, why did you decide on shockwaves for the rear?

Nice effort, but I think you should try again. How about I get rid of that for you and you start over. That is beautiful.

Thanks,

I feel it looks cleaner and with the canti I get 12" of lift. If I didn't have the canti I would only get 4"

Yeah!!! I've been doing a little painting myself. I figured it wouldn't hurt to learn. I'm going to paint the frame silver.

I understand the Canti but why shockwaves for the bags? Why not convoulted bags? They just wouldn't have been my chioce. What size line do they run? I heard they were kinda slow.
I'm just curious because I don't hear of them being used that often.

This setup isn't built for speed. It's only going to use 1/4" line. The shockwaves have a nice look and it makes the setup look simple.

Drunk. J/K... He was three sheets to the wind when he painted my bug. I guess it doesn't matter because it turned out perfect.

I'm not sure about the powder coat becaues the truck is in limbo right now. I have someone who is trying to buy the truck from the owner.
