I want to remove the dealer badge that is on the back of my Suburban (2004) but I don't want to mess up the paint. It appears to be affixed with some sort of tape strip. Any thoughts?

See if a hair dryer will soften the adhesive. Then you can clean it up with mineral spirits. But you will be able to see the unfaded paint where it was, unless you have white paint.

Heat is a good idea...Napa also makes a product called kleanz-ez that is really good @ removing the adhesive left behind. Its also good for bugs,tar,etc.

Goo Gone (walmart with the cleaning supplies) will break down the adhesive, It may take a little more time, but it is a handy product to have around for cleaning up any sticky or waxy substance. Smells like lemons too

I usually take some heavy fishing string to use as a "saw" behind the emblem.
It will cut through the tape, then use some wd-40 and a hair dryer (or any of the previously mentioned adhesive removers). Finish it up with a very light polishing compound and a coat of wax. On a 2004, you shouldn't have any noticable fading?

I just work them loose by hand and clean up any adhesive residue with reducer.
