1 TON TRUCKS
I see alot of these 8 lug trucks at the junkyard. What size engines came in them?
Other than knowing a big block from a small block, I would not know the cubic inch. ------------------ Working on my plain jane 69 C-10 with a healthy 283 in it for now. |

The 8 lug rin=m does not automaticly denote a one ton, the 3/4 ton also came so equipped, and more likely than not, that is what you are seein gout there.
C-10 thrugh C-30 all had the same engine options available. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Trying to clean up the left over damage from the Dope-Smokin-Old-Man I've been dubbed the Longhorn Freak/Fanatic/Expert, I just hope I can live up to it. So if its a 3/4 ton, what would be the smallest engine it would have? My stock 69 came with a 305 ci, so I don't want anyting smaller than that.

305 was V6 in 67-72 GMC trucks
250 was smallest in chevy trucks, 230 engine in gmc largest was 402 in 71 72 this is for all trucks, standard equipment in the 67-72 six cyl trucks was 250 optional in six cyl trucks was the 292 engine standard in 68-72 v8 chevy trucks were the 307 and standard in 67 v8 trucks was the 283 optional was 327, 350, 396/402(400), these four were never standard, they had to be ordered to be installed ------------------ -71/C-10(thx teeitup and crews!)350 4+4/CH465(thx 71Chev, GMCPaul, and CPNE)longfleet bed(thnx meathead95)!still building it- -'84 Z28(Z28) 1G1AP87GXEL100000 with H.O. 305/4bbl/190net/hp(L69) 3.73 rear(GT4/YC4) 700R4(MD8-MXO) & other goodies  -79 G20 pass van, 350/th350/10bolt, paint is overrated Randy- Lincoln, IL r68c30@hotmail.com © RSS Enterprises 2000 [This message has been edited by Fast68Chevy (edited March 22, 2002).] |

Ok so I had a 307 originaly, again are you guys saying I might find a 327 ci in a 3/4 ton?

DANG!!! So if I pulled an engine out of a truck, lets say 74 3/4 ton or 1 ton and up.
Would I have a better chance of finding a 350 ci or better? |

350 is the largest small block youl find originally installed in a 67-72 truck, 396/402 was the only other larger engine you'll find, unless someone put larger in later after factory
