hummer wheels on '79

I know the bolt pattern is the same for all 8 lugs (8 on 6.5) , but '88 to '04 and maybe current takes a 14X1.50 lug nut vs the 9/16 on pre '88. Will my lug nuts seat correctly on the newer wheels or do I need to do s o m e t h i n g .... Went out when I bought the truck and put 8 X 16.5's on it, not knowing at the time 16" was really better. Dummy me, but that was long ago in the last millinium, Jan of '79. Any idea what take-offs are going for on the newer trucks? thanks...jim

Re: hummer wheels on '79

If I understand what you are asking correctly, I've seen the new GM eight lug aluminum rims on Craigslist for anywhere from $250 for a set of 4 to $1200 for a set of 4 with new tires and caps/lugnuts. And everywhere in between.
The ones for $1200 seemed overpriced as there was a set of 4 with caps and lugnuts with a claimed 70% tread for $450 at the same time.
If I had a 3/4 or 1 ton, I would pick up a set.

I've seen Hummer wheels on a 86 Suburban!! They look sharp. You can machine the center out just a little to fit older center caps too.
