More sway bar information

Howdy:
Had the pleasure of doing a "salvage yard" upgrade with a swaybar purchased from another member, and using txfirefighter's EXCELLENT step by step procedure as seen in the FAQ section, but an update or two is in order, as that was posted some time (years!) ago.
My truck didn't come originally equipped with a sway bar, so I took the part # supplied in the article (6271375, for the sway bar to frame bracket, 2 required ) to my local Chevy dealer's parts counter. The fellow there declared it was not something he had in stock (not a big surprise ), but there was ONE in Lakeland ( approx. 2 hours away from were I live- St Petersburg, FL ), while there were 2 in Jacksonville, FL ( North FL ), and the cost was $21.00 plus change for each, no longer the $12 each as had been the case when the article was written. Have seen them in the www.truckandcarshop.com catalog for $18 each, as well, but the supply of genuine chevy brackets is apparently running out, at least per my local parts guy.
The next thing was the swaybar bushings. As MOOG was said to be all made of polyurethane, I went first to a Carquest store that handles that brand. None listed for the "small" diameter bar I ended up with! ( 15/16 ", by actual measurement ) Listed were ! 1 1/16", 1 1/18", and larger. After some going back and forth, that partscounterguy concluded that I must have been sold a bar for some other vehicle if he had no listing for that diameter bar. No help.
Did some digging, and found some "universal" type swaybar bushings, polyurethane, in the J C Whitney catalog online. Ordered the 15/16" type with the "B" bracket ( larger of the two types offered ). They are Prothane brand, came in pairs, @ $12.99 a pair ( 2 pair required). They are a bit wider than the Chevy style, but they work fine; my "incorrect" bar installed easily with these bushings, and even the "small" 15/16 " bar provides a great improvement in handling.
