Are 5 doors enough?
Thought I'd try a rear suicide door on the '57 panel. Not close to being done, but I thought I'd show y'all. After I make the door frame fit the opening, I plan on using the quarter skin I plasma cut out as the new door skin, hopefully looking like something the factory might have done.

Re: Are 5 doors enough?
Looks pretty neat. Now that you bring that up, I'd like to see someone add a sliding door to one of those trucks.

Re: Are 5 doors enough?
I wonder how it would look with a door facing the same way? Just my opinion, but In my mind it would seem to look better.

Re: Are 5 doors enough?
Are you going with a one piece in the back door?

Re: Are 5 doors enough?
CAL I thought a regular clamshell would work for the back doors.
5mike7 I considered the rear door facing forward but that would make the "B" pillar about 6" wide to make room for the hinges. I did not think that would look as "factory" as the doors fitting tight together.

Re: Are 5 doors enough?
Funny thing, something in my old feeeble mind seems to recall some 4-door 55-9's GMC or Chevys, used for the forest service or something, I know for sure Dodge and Ford had them...basically a 4-door pickup. Anyway, not exactly sure GMC/Chevy did it, but seem to recall some. Of course the doors didn't suicide, but all faced the same direction.
I'll be awaiting the look when it's all filled in...I know the prurists don't like to see a panel hacked up, but I always thought something needed to be added into all that space. |

Re: Are 5 doors enough?
No beer. just ran out of RIDALIN. LOL
The door window looks big when it is stretched to match the door size. I will probably make window fixed because there is not enough room for it to go up and down with the original (huge) door hinges. What do you guys think?

I like that. looks good with a big window.
So stop the ridilan and start 40 mg of prednisone and it will be done by next week. |

Re: Are 5 doors enough?
My ambition is running out for now. The pass side has the gas filler door right where the suicide door should be. So it would take some extra fabbing to relocate the gas door also.
