whats a truck like this worth?

I'm considering trading my corvette for this truck. The guy has offered this rig and some cash. I'm not sure if it's enough. What do you guys think this rig is worth?

1968 chevy lwb
pretty clean and very straight.
tons of new parts.
the glove box sticker only had a few options so its a pretty plain truck.

Bad parts: 1) the front brush guard is welded to the bumper so if i take it off it'll need a new bumper.
2) the lower area of the truck was rhino lined and the paint has reacted in area to the rhino line. i checked it pretty good it doesn't appear to be rot, its just looks like rot under the paint.
3) The front grill has to go and replaced with a stock grill.

Other than that it is a very nice rig.

What do you suppose i could sell this truck for?

Re: whats a truck like this worth?

Based on that photo and the Rhino lining (which lowers the value IMO) I'd guess $6-7K (assuming it is rust free).

Re: whats a truck like this worth?

i see nice original paint 4X4's without the tacky add ons for $6-$7000 so i'd think more along the $3000-$4000 range maybe less depending what it looks like under the paint// lift kits rhino lining rollbars brush guards all lower values in my opinion and are areas of concern as to weather something was done right

Re: whats a truck like this worth?

I would not trade for that, I believe even with the corvette in modified condition that it is worth a lot more than that long bed work truck. If it was original 68 swb cst 4wd, than that would be another story. I would give about 5500.00 for the truck then spend all of the time taking all of that crap off of it and finding another grille, spending money painting the grille, clean up the rhino liner......so on and so on. You get the drift.

Looks pretty 'redneck' IMO, finding the right buyer without changing/fixing stuff might be a challenge.

If I owned the Vette and was offered the same deal, I'd pass.

Re: whats a truck like this worth?

It's kinda hard to give a value on such little information. Can you get more pics and list what the truck has?

Small block or Big block?
Tranny?
Axles? Posi?
Rebuilt transfer case?
Rebuilt suspension? Lift parts?

Looks to be a nice truck but here in Tx they are plentiful.

Re: whats a truck like this worth?

Thats a difficult call... That 68 has been posted on Craigslist several times in the $7,000 range and has not sold.. But since your corvette is highly modified that makes it a hard sell because you have to find the absolute right guy for it... Hmmmmmmmmm... I guess it all gets down to what you like and if your happy with his offer. If the the guy is offering up a wad of cash and the truck... I would seriously consider it..
IMHO...It is much easier to sell a truck, It can sit outside, you can go play with it in the rain and the Vette is in the way in the garage.

Re: whats a truck like this worth?

What do you feel your Vette is worth?I don`t think the value is all that much less for how it`s customized.More limited than lessened.Anyone that likes it (and I do) should add back on what the cost of modifications are to what`s deducted for non-originality.The car is in one of the lower price groups of Vettes. So,I don`t think it hurt the value that much. It`s a cool fun car that is in good looking condition.I`m sure it`s fast and gets alot of attention.Vettes and Cobras are about the only vehicles that sidepipes are acceptable on these days. It`s a street freak. If it was a Nash Metropolitan or something else that would be uninteresting to the cool car crowd without such mods it would "give" it value. If it was a Nova, would the fat tires and motor through the hood devalue it?Also, body mods have always been seen on Vettes and there have been companies formed by this trend. So,I don`t think your Vette is worth anything less than others in those years.

Re: whats a truck like this worth?

i picked a 77 because back in '93 when i bought it, it was the cheapest vette available as well as the highest production year built. I'm a big vette guy and i didn't want to chop up a vette that had alot of value as a stock car. I'm asking $14k for it but finding the unique buyer is tough. This vette has 0 miles as i started from a frame, however the interior isn't quite finished which hurts the value and sell as well. This car has had a complete frame off restore.

anybody out there want it?
