Need guidence w.LOWERING '63 C-20
I need any advise possible in lowering my '63. Its a 3/4 ton. Obviously I do not care if it remains a 3/4 ton. Im looking at cataloges and see that all of the lowering coils are for a C-10 model. Nothing for a C-20. Does this indicate that the springs are 1/2 ton rated and will fit either suspension? Im not in a financial situation to put on drop spindles. I have to stick with lowering coils.
Can anyone tell me what the best front/rear drop ratio is, and where to get the coils? I want to go as low as I can with the use of coils. I want the stance to be level, or slighly lower in the front.

i cut the springs on the front of my half ton.i don't know if that will work on a 3/4 ton.btw www.earlyclassic.com has conversion spindles if you want to change to five lug.

If you aren't needing the 3/4 ton suspension, get a front crossmember and rear end from a 73+ 1/2 ton. It might take a little adapting, but it will make lowering a lot cheaper. The other low dollar option is to cut or heat the coils and remove leafs from the rear.

I'm about to attempt the same thing with a 62 C20. Switching out the frame to a 85 chevy 1/2 ton. Was able to pick it up with power booster, tilt colum, and drive shaft. Planning on building a v8 for it. LS

I decided to use 1/2 ton drop coils. It was a pain primarily due to chipping 40 y/o undercoating from everything. I went with a 4/2 drop. It looks pretty good. It was as low as I could go without having to change spindles and doing a disc brake convert.
