Lanny; good fella to buy from
Howdy; bought a couple of 15x8 6 lug Ralleys from this fella; they are exactly what he said, and in fine shape. They arrived well packed, protected from mishandling in transit. They require NOTHING prior to mounting tires. Thanks, Pard.

Re: Lanny; good fella to buy from
I got my radio from Lanny and the only thing that saved it from UPS's demolition derby was that it was so well packed Thanks again to Lanny.

A Big Thanks to all who have bought my spare parts from me. I try to box these parts, the way i'd want them boxed, if I was buying 'em. Thanks much, Lanny

Re: Lanny; good fella to buy from
Maybe you should do a FAQ thread on packing parts.

Krue, I'm a slow typer so I will just make a condensed quickie here. Duct tape any sharp edges on parts, and duct tape the inside of the box where the part comes in contact, so the part don't create a hole from the inside out. I wrap some parts in plastic, and then use canned expanding foam. I also use styrofoam peanuts and/or 1 or 2 inch thick styrofoam. I also use soft foam, simular to carpet foam on some parts. Each part is differnt, and so are the methods of packing them. ALSO, Make sure you tape or hot glue the box closed good and I allways put the buyers name and address on the box in print on one side, just in case the shipping lable gets messed up. Boxing parts good takes alot of time, but I kinda get a kick out of doing a good job, kindof a contest between me and the shipping handlers. I have never had a claim yet, but I suppose someday, one of them box handlers that could screw up a steel ball with a rubber hammer will prove no-contest to me. Here's a couple pix of a 39 Chev heater core and motor assembly, before and after boxing it.. Thanks, Lanny Last edited by Lanny; 09-01-2006 at 01:42 AM. |

Re: Lanny; good fella to buy from
I made an offer to Lanny on his tilt column and we agreed on a price. I work just a few blocks down from the PO so I ran down and sent off his money order. When I get back I shoot him a pm making sure he has the correct shipping addy along with my phone number in case he has any questions. Roughly around 8:30 that night I get phone call. He says he's Lanny and that by our PMs he trust my MO is on it's way and that he's going to ship out the tilt in the A.M - I was honestly set back by that gesture and am highly appreciative of it! Today the package gets here and I really didn't know where to begin tearing into this box. After making my own opening (didn't know where his began or ended...lol). Lanny you're one of kind my friend!
