Newby. A little about myself.

Been lurking around here for a while. 40 yr old father of 4 from Arkansas. Lots of Chevy trucks in my past. (other brands too) Finally got ahold of my "dream truck" in June. It's a 1979 SWB Silverado with 454/400/3:43 posi combo. White w/blue guts. Fairly straight and preserved. Some motor mods and still wearing ralleys. I'm DESPERATELY looking for the big ten decals for the bed sides and and light/medium blue floor mats to cover my carpet. Might also change the carpet as it's the wrong color and doesn't match the door bottoms. Will post pictures as soon as I get a digital camera! Great forum you've got going here. Hiway

Re: Newby. A little about myself.

Hiway. This is a great board full of great helpful people. There are several companys that sell the carpet(Chevy Duty, Year One, LMC, Summit,etc.). I think one of the board members, as well, sells carpet probably cheaper cost than the ones I listed. The decals might be found on Ebay. The Big10 logo seems rare remanufactored. You can probably score some from the salvage yards in decent shape and do a little touchup work to bring them back to life. I'm in No. Little Rock. Good Luck with the project.

Re: Newby. A little about myself.

Thanks guys. I've been all over the net looking for the Big 10 decals...no luck yet. And I read on here somewhere that a board member has the carpet kit. I'll def. give them first shot. Enola is north-ish from Conway. I work in Maumelle and the bride works in LR. You guys will have to keep me up on the events for our area. Haven't done any shows since the late 80's. Haven't got entry material but would like to attend some with my boys to get them interested. Is it better if I become a paying member here?

Welcome to the forum hiway. It sounds like you have a really sweet combo to work with. I'm glad to hear my truck played a truck in your inspiration.

Try LMC for those decals. Check with Capt Kaos on the carpet. He can make you a good deal on ACC kits which is one of the best replacement brands out there...

I'll keep you posted on the shows I hear or read about. They are posted in the classifieds usually in the antique auto section. Happy BIG10 decal hunting.
