Scotty, Zaino is quite expensive. I'm not too sure on that, but i'm thinking its more then some other products.
I've heard good things about Meguiars Gold Class series of waxes and polishes. I'm sure if you do there complete polish system. Clay bar to clean paint, wax, polish and some elbow grease you would get some great results. And i'm sure its cheaper then Zaino. www.meguiars.com If you go there, go to there products section. Then look through there consumer steps 1-5 on cleaning and taking care of the paint. That should help you out.

You dont even want to get me started on how much better Zaino is that the others out there.....in fact there really are no "others" Seeing as how they are all waxes or silicones.....Zaino is a fully synthetic clearcoat polish. No abrasives, no fillers, and no carnuba AT ALL!~!
Plain and simple fact....carnuba yellows and melts off. If you dont believe me, set a candle out on blacktop for a week in 100 degree weather and watch what happens to it....duh..it melts....why..because its made of wax. So that is the easiest way to explain why wax is a waste of time. Not to mention all waxes have Silicone fillers in them that appear to make the scratches disappear. If you dont believe this ....go get some Pledge or wesson oil and rub it on your paint....it will shine like a diamond in a Goats @$$....but it *like wax* will attract dust like no other. Another added *benefit* to wax is the harsh abrasives and chemicals that will over time scratch your finish and wear it down...thus the need for the silicone to fill it back in so you dont see it. Also, Wax "dents" if you will...bugs and such embed themselves into it as where Zaino provides a barrier to the elements...It physically bonds to the clearcoat and you will be amazed at how easy bugs and road goo come off. Zaino also has anti static properties and UV filters to protect your paint....its so high tech its rediculous....The price...dont let it scare you...its nothing like the wax your used to using...."Less is More" in the case of Zaino..the thinner the coat the better. And it lasts up to 6 months with one application. So as an idea of how long it lasts....I detail cars on the side...along with mine and the Grand Am....They get it at very minimum 1x-4x a month depending on time/carshows/weather. and it will last me almost 8-10 months. Along with the other 30-40 cars a year I do. Zaino "stacks" on top of each new coat to build up the barrier, along with the added shine, it over time hides the fine scratches and such....notice, it does not remove them but masks them to the human eye. Waxes cannot do this as each time you reapply a new coat, the abrasives and chemicals strip the last coat and just put on a new one...causing more scratches and damage. For those of you that dont believe me....feel free to call Sal Zaino at his # on the website...I speak to him on a regular basis....ask him about what happened with me to switch me over to Zaino....You will be surprised. I know this is a lot to take in at once but its all true. Seriously give hime a call...he is a super nice guy.!

Where do you get this polish? Is it different to apply from regular car wax?

www.zainobros.com
it applies much the same but there is a starting process that needs to be adhered to in order to get proper results. After that...its the easiest system in the world to use and the fastest.
