is the same type of valve used for both dump and fill? how do these valves work? part of the fun is trying to find something on the cheap and making it work. so i am thinking that there may be some type of valve that is designed for something else but would work. if it has a high usage and no wow factor name=less money. thanks, pkj

they are the same ... you are not the first to try to do this "on the cheap" ... save yourself some time, effort and money and just buy them. honest.

I am not expert but i believe i am pretty sure that they are used for both dump and fill. When i bought my valves i got 8 of all the same valves so they must be the same more i think about it. As for what else you can use that is up to you. I have no idea. I bought mine from suicide doors and i believe they are about $30 each. Good luck!!!!!

There is many different kind of valves I run 4 4 way solenoid valves. They are a little expensive but it saves the cluster of having a bunch of 1 way or 2 way valves.

so are these just a solenoid that open and close by an electric circuit? thanks,pkj i guess i will never stop trying to re-invent the wheel!

You are right but there is valves that are normally open or closed so make sure you buy the right ones. If you buy them from Suicide they are the correct ones.

Get some GC's or something designed for it. I definately understand where you are coming from tryin to find some kind of cheap replacement. Cheap valves are a pain in the ass though. They leak and your truck will end up going higher or lower on its own. Then you gotta rip them out of wherever there hidden and buy new ones anyway. I think Suicide doors still has a good deal on some quality ones. Oh and they can be used for fills and dumps the same, just follow the directional arrow on them when installing.

I bought 2 different sets of 4 off ebay for a wicked good deal. To keep things simple, I used one brand for fill and one brand for dump. All 8 are good quality valves, but buying them the way I did, I saved about $100. I would have saved even more had I known one set I got didn't include the wires. That was $30 and a huge pain in the ass to find.

When it was all said and done, I would have spent a little more, but would have done a lot less work had I just went with Suicide Doors in the first place. I can't say enough about how great they have been with advice and support.
