list of problems
bought another truck today much to my fiancees dismay (oh well tough) any way, its in pretty good shape, very very little cab rust, no bed rust, but it was hit "gently" on the passenger side, but i think i can fix it, it is a 71 short fleet with front disk brakes, its got a 307 out of a 68 "B" Body. i know the carb needs to be rebuilt, it would barely go up the hill coming home, was kinda funny, also, i am planning on rebuilding the distributor oh well, gotta go, shes a callin.+

unfortunately for me it is points, and i dont have the funds to put an hei in, but at least i know how to rebuild a points distributor(if it even needs it) by the way what the hell does H stand for in HEI????? oh well, took apart the carb tonight, going to go buy the rebuild kit for it tommorow. hey heres a question for you??? would you keep the 69 gmc 4x4, and part the 71 (take the cab, radiator, and some other stuff and put it on the gmc,) and takes all the same stuff off the gtmc and put it on the 71 (71 would still run and drive, but the gmc would have the better of the deal) the sell the 71, or would you take the fresh 350 out of the gmc and throw it in the 71??? ??? HMMMMM i gotta lot of thinking to do im confusing myself peace yall

"HEI" stands for "High-Energy Ignition".

I dunno.. for some reason I say make the GMC the better truck
But when it gets right down to it its your choice! ------------------ Nick Rodenberg Wellington, MO http://nickrod.port5.com You can click on "My 72 Chevy Truck" I have a 72 Cheyenne 10 with a V8 350 and a TH-350 auto-tranny. Ochre/White/Ochre Runs well... working on body. Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend. Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.

Since I started rebuilding my 70 GMC LWB Fleetside, I've noticed that some of the GMC parts are harder to find than the same parts for a Chevy. Then when ya do find them, they're more expensive. Check the difference in price on the tailgates. I guess that's why I like the GMC's better? Unique! Ah well, time to get off the soapbox and back to workin on it. Just my $.02 worth.
