50th Anniversary Questions
Hello folks, I'm new to the site and recently bought my first c-10 that I think is a 50th anniversary truck. The truck came with a long bed but when I took it off I noticed the last owner welded brackets for the bed and welded a late model bumper on the truck. After I took the brackets off and grinded the weld clean, I noticed the real color on the back of the cab is a two tone gold and off white. There is no build sheet and the glove box is un ledgable. The sun visors are gold, so is the dash, original cab, clip, steering wheel and fixtures.
The vin is CE148Z15xxxx. This all leads me to my main question which is,could this be a 50th? Did these trucks come in stepsides? Doesn't the 4 in the vin mean stepside? Thanks Chris |

Re: 50th Anniversary Questions
Here's a link to this sites VIN decoder.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/Chevyear.html It looks like you've posted your VIN not model number code. If you can't read your glove box model number code you may be out of luck. Anyway, if it is a true 68 50th step I don't think it should be white under the trim line. 50th steps only had white cab tops (Along with 68 50th Burbs). I think we discussed this a while ago and came to that conclusion. Do you have any pictures of the gold areas or interior? That will help us out. The saddle color is also commonly mistaken for 50th gold.

Re: 50th Anniversary Questions
It sounds like a 50th Anni truck.
From what I remember The VIN # does not tell what type of truck it is. Its the model # on the glove box lable that tells this. |

Re: 50th Anniversary Questions
All the four means is that it is a pickup with a cab and bed. It could be a stepside or fleetside. I'm assuming your truck is a fleetside? The only trucks that came with gold interior pieces are 50th's. It's possible someone swapped the interior pieces, but with the paint behind the cab... I think you have a 50th
