Bolt-On 4-Link
Since I don't know how to weld and don't have a welder, has anybody here know if a KP Components Bolt-On 4-link for the 73-87 GM trucks will work on my 72 c10 without any major modifications? It currently has rear leaf rear, which I am assuming the 73-87 only came that way. I believe the frames are different from the 67-72 to the 73-87, but I have heard from an unreliable source that even though the 72 body is the same in the 67-72, that GM started re-styling the frame so when the new style truck came out, it would be a quick transition. I have no clue, so please help!!!!

gm restyled the frame in 73 the frame goes straight as in the 67-72 the frame has a big curve to the out side. I really dont know is it could be made to fit or not but why not pay to get a universal 4 link welded??

Money is one issue. I also like saying "I did it myself". Being one-handed, I get a lot of gratification from seeing people's eyes bug out and jaws drop when I get to say it. It is one of my guily little pleasures. |

I believe the 67~72 leaf width is 2.25" vs. the 73 & up @ 2.5" so that might cause issues as well (bracketry on the rear housings).
You could always purchase the 73 & up kit & try it. If it doesn't work, re-sell it here or on e-bay for a slightly discounted rate. It would be worth a few bucks just to check the possibilities out. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I sent an email to KP Components just to see what they say. Hopefully they will let me know whether or not it will work. If it doesn't work, I will go with the weld-on universal version, and find someone to do it. |

i would be concernd with the axle perch width to frame measurement. i dont know if the spacing is the same and would cause binding if the bars arent parralle.
it hard to tell what the panard bar bolts/mounts to but that will most deffinetly take some customizing to line up correctly. |
