Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank

Helium is no faster than Nitrogen, Ambient Air, or Compressed Farts.

Again, the molecule size of the gas has nothing to do with the "speed" of an air suspension system.

The "speed" you refer to may have something to do with the fact that you are pushing a gas at 350 psi thru your system. I don't think a 12 volt or a belt driven compressor based system can't obtain these pressures, at least not economically. Any gas "pushed" at 350 psi is gonna be "faster" than a gas "pushed" at lesser pressures.

To give the credit to Helium for it being faster is hilarious to me.

"Thickness" isn't the issue. I can get Jell-o to move faster through lines than Helium with enough pressure. Hmmm... a Jell-o cannon.

Ideal gas law (a bit of a combo of Charles' Law and Boyle's Law... it has no implications toward density, only pressure, volume, and temperature).

No, medical grade N2O would be hilarious. He only changes the pitch of your voice.

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank

i have a eng driven compressor that i can fill my tanks to 175 compressed air and also run a nitrogen system that i can set at 175 so same psi same size lines same valves and weight of vehicle and the nitogen is faster and when ran with a helium cylender at same psi it moves even faster than with the nitrogen
so i think there is something to the speed that the smaller molocule gas moveing faster

Basic Physics states otherwise, but who am I to argue.

To expand on XXL's post, here is a little insight on Molecular Composition & Kinetic Energy.

to me helium is fasterand i will keep on using it for when i need to go faster

Get one of these to connect to your valves too.

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank

yea i dont really care about the physics behind it all i know is when its hooked up to Helium it looks faster sounds louder and hops higher
the only problem is it cost more $$$ so its vary rare when it gets used in my truck

i am not a scientes only a metal fabracator

its all about the fun and the sweet looking trucks

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank

Maybe its the same thing as that 20HP gain by adding a resistor to the mix of your temp sensor on the intake? It feels like 20 HP, but really isn't anything... all a mind game because of the myths of a few passed around the net.

Re: Air compressor vers compressed air tank

I would love to have an additional 20 hp, but my temp sensor isn't on the intake.

Around 2003, I made it to one edge of the Intarnetwebs. I am now headed back the other direction in search of the other edge.

Hey Tony!

XXL - Looks like you didn't hit the porn side yet, I was in the same situation as you a few years back and after I passed everything I'd already seen, I found porn.... and now I don't think I'll ever make it to the other side.
