Hello to all,

This is my first time ever being apart of a forum so please excuse my ignorance. I own a ’67 Chevy truck and wish to convert the rear brakes to disc. I have been to numerous web sites and have seen the many different kits out there; my thought is there has to be a cheaper way of doing this? I can by the caliper brackets for $20.00 bucks and I would think I could find the rest in scrap yards. The problem is which makes and models can I get the parts from? I do want e brakes. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Like I said I am a new member so there could be several threads out there with this information already.

Are you wanting to keep the 6-lug setup or switch to 5-lug?

I have already converted the front to 5 lug so I will also be going with 5 lug on the rear.

i already have a rear disc conversion with brackets similar to those...(not installed) anyone think it would make any difference as to how yo uclocked the caliper? ie- to the back or front.. the instructions say to go to the back, but i like the looks of em on the front. and really- who cares what instructions say anyway?!

As long as you swap the calipers side to side to keep the bleeder screw pointing up, I can't see as to where it would matter.
