I recently got a '72 Blazer that has no lift & 33s. From the way everything reads Skyjacker Soft Ride is the way to go. I would like to put 35x14.5 Boggers on it. But would a 4" or 6" work better? I don't want to be bending up the fenders every time I'm turning & going down in a ditch! Show pics of yours if it's got 35s.

Hey man, I'm new to the site and the whole computer world for that matter.. But I have a 72 Jimmy that I put a 6" rough country on last winter.
I put 35x15.5 swampers on first with a 10" rim, those looked to small, lots of wheelwell clearance. So I upgraded to 37x14.5 swampers on a 12" rim, however those rubbed a little on the pass. side had to trim a bit. Well theres my two cents.. Sorry I don't any pics yet... haven't figured that out yet.

6" lift minimum for any kind of decent wheeling with 35's...period.

The 4'' will work but you might have to work the fenders slightly. The 6" will work with no problem.

I have a four inch lift and 33's. Before I purchased them we tried a set of 35's, they fit, but they would rub while turning sharp. Definatly a 6" lift is minumum.

have no rub issues whatsoever, but .................... Show rig, no wheel'n

definantly 6" thats what mine had with 35" bfg M/T's. It worked Perfect!

Sorry, just an old term used from my street racing days.
I will be running in sand, trails and towing. My boys and girl bought me 35's for Christmas and I think they will be to much for it. It could be a dog when I give it gas, and I don't want to regear it (4:10) Thanks for your suggestions, and sorry for the hijack, just thought it might fit in with this thread. J.

I won't be 'optimum' but you could work with it seeing you already have the 35's.

Your th-350 has a pretty decent first gear, better than a th-400 at least.

Ah, now you bring up the other prob. Just bought a th400 and now it sounds like it is going to get 'worse.

I guess regearing is in my immediate future, like I don't have enuff todo... Thanks Kurt for the info.

4:10's are very common in our trucks, why not find some and swap out the entire she-bang?

Well since your doing all that now...time for the 8-luggers.

If those 35"s are gonna be 14.5" wide, you definitely are going to need 6".

If I do 8 lugs I lose my ralleye wheels, alright 33's in the dirt w/4" lift. Mall cruising 35's, all show and no go!!!
