60-66 wheel width question
What is the maximum width rear wheel that can be run on a 66 fleetside. The rear has been lowered 6 inches/ with notches. The inner fender wells have been removed. I have 2 15x10 4''bs, but don't think they will fit. I have 15x7 4''bs on front, and want the widest rear wheel I can fit, without narrowing the rear end. If anyone has any pics with info of different 60-66 fleetside rear set up it will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 60-66 wheel width question
Kyle4381, awesome ride and craftsmanship. Your truck sits about like mine. Do you know what backspacing the 18x10's have. Thanks for the pic.

Re: 60-66 wheel width question
Thanks guys, it is in for a complete makeover, new motor, transmission, complete fiberglass interior and a Porterbuilt Chassis with 20" rims and 345 tires in the rear.
I had a 400 in it and now I built a 700r4 and a new 383 roller blower motor. I believe they have a 5" back space, with the stock wheel wells that is about the widest tire you can fit in there. When it is aired out the axle is about where the bottom of the frame would be. I have a #$%^ 9" rearend that is the same length as the stock one. Last edited by kyle4381; 01-14-2007 at 01:56 PM. |
