Some pics of the weekend events...

Critter and I cruised around a little this weekend and I took some pics while we were at it. We also replaced pretty much everything in his cooling system except his radiator and bled my brakes.

When we stopped at home depot I took this pic to give an idea of how much taller his is compared to my stock ride height. His tires are bald 33" BFG AT's and mine are somewhat new 32" cheapo MT's.

Here's his truck doing what it does best...breaking. Actually he's about to drain the coolant to start work on the cooling system.

HEI conversion. It's simple, it works and it's reliable. Gotta give Critter credit for this one (the idea, I did the work...just need to make that clear).

Here's his engine, you can see the internally regulated atlernator he swapped in. Don't be fooled, it's got gobs and gobs of power.

Here's what a new crate motor looks like unprofessionally installed. Before anyone says anything I know that the power steering is not in place yet along with the fan shroud.

Clutch fan is the only way to go.

Two pics of my truck.

That's it for now, i'm sure there will be more to come because in two weeks i'm taking my Blazer on it's first ever road trip to Padre Island National Seashore to go surf fishing. I'll post some pics of that for you guys when it happens.

Re: Some pics of the weekend events...

Those are pretty good pics. I need to get a few more of mine now that I cleaned up under the hood a little since then. And by the way, my tires are dry-rotted, not bald...there's a difference When are you going to get some new rear springs to that thing stops looking like a rocket ship about to take off?

Alright, just jealous. Wish we all could have a good weekend like that. It got to 20 here today and looking for another 3 inches of white stuff tonight.

Re: Some pics of the weekend events...

Critter your tires look like some sort of BFG racing slick reject. My truck is fine the way it sits now, you're just jealous.

As for the weather down here, well it's pretty nice and warm...sorry.

Re: Some pics of the weekend events...

I gotta keep sayin you guys have too much fun!!!!! And you have a long season of decent weather to do it in. A lot of guys up here like to go playin in the cold and snow, but I have to work in the cold alot, and Im not gonna play in it too. We are actually sposed to be around a high of 50 for awhile so maybe I can afford the gas to warm up the shop to work on my 4x4!
Glad you was able to afford the camera batteries finally!

Later---DAC

Re: Some pics of the weekend events...

The same thing of course. Actually I think Critter ordered some parts (spring bushings and drop steering arm) so we might be busy with that. That's if the parts get here before this weekend. You need to join us. Like i've said before the things yours needs won't take but an hour and if you need help you know we'll lend a hand.

Re: Some pics of the weekend events...

Yeah, I just got off the phone with Summit, they had put down the wrong part numbers so I had to call back and correct things. Doubt the stuff will be here by this weekend, but that won't stop us from tearing up something.

Re: Some pics of the weekend events...

I like the mirrors on your Blazers..............sport mirrors "look cool" but they suck for functionality!!! I am struggling with this on the 69 I am doing a resto-mod on and shiver when I think of using the Ford mirrors but damn the sport mirrors are so dis-functional when you want to tow something or even backup.....the Fords are functional and look pretty good or.........do like you guys are doing, use the functional chevy ones.......I am leaning on doing stock 69 plates instead of doing the sporties that suck for seeing vaughely behind you. personal preferrence of course....=)

Hey Tim, just mounted my tow hooks up. Do you mean a tube in between the frame horns??

Yeah Tim, 69-72 regular bend. I was confused on your comment, because I thought the bumper would keep the frame apart

Re: Some pics of the weekend events...

Yeah I'm a little upset about my pushbar being bent up. It was that way when I got it. I was originally going to take it off, but it has kinda grown on me. I think I will take it off and straighten it the best I can. I know that the chrome will be ruined, but oh well.
