speedometer not working
my speedometer has not worked since i bought my truck, so i purchased a new speedo cable and a redone gauge cluster for my 66. so the only thing left is the tranny output. never had to deal with this problem so need some teaching. i only know that there is one bolt holding the gear onto the tranny shaft. so any help is good help.

Re: speedometer not working
If it is a three speed the gear is on the left hand side, folloe the cable and you will see were it attaches to the tranny. Unscrew it and remove the lock plate, it is held on with a screw ( 3/8 I think ). You will need to coax it off, I use a screw driver and place it were the locin plate was an gentaly pry it loose.
When I replaced my cable I found that the cable had broke off right at the tip. It is an easy fix. Good luck |
