Surrounded by the "Enemy"
Gentlemen-
I live in the Zanesville Ohio area, which is primarily surrounded by farm country. At every turn and every stoplight...I am surrounded by Fords. Even members of my own family have converted to "the dark side". I guess the best we can do is keep trucks of our era going, wear Bowtie shirts to Thanksgiving dinners, and hope that someday we can help these lost souls find their way into Chevrolets. Would anyone be interested in gathering at one of the larger Chevy shows in the Midwest??? ------------------

My last project was a '57 F-100 and it did'nt have anywhere near the rust that the '67 C10 short-step I am now working on has (had). I have the worst part of it repaired. When it comes to rust I think the '67 - '72 GM's deserve a special rust susceptibilty prize.

New option 2002 ford mangentic rear bumper for picking parts up that fall off.
option 2: heated tailgate for keeping hands warm while pushing. Option3: the humane society and ford are giving free dogs with the purchase of a new Ford truck. They feel its not safe to walk home alone. along that line the Ca. dept of highways is looking at requiring pedestrian lanes so all the ford owners can home safley...... I am better now got my dose of ford bashing ------------------ 68 c20 in progress 327 TH400 tach dash Disc Brakes and soon 3.90 rear gears.. have many new parts now just need the time..... My neighbor has nothing but F@@ds, except that he is pres of the Volunteer Fire district and they are all Chevy. Always start, always run.......I have 4 Chevys and a Chevy powered Studebaker. My reciever hitch cover is billet aluminum and says "Remove 2 Tow Ford". I put a lock on it so he won't steal it.

How about a response to the horrible '67 - '72 rust? The GM rust I'm talking about of course. That's interesting. I am Chairman of the community fire association where I live and we do have Chevys too. One of our pumpers is an International and it has a Ford engine for the pumper unit.

They rust, but look at the '67 - '72 Ford rust. as soon as they rust on the strut towers, the front end falls off.
Plus, look at the '74 - '87 Chevys, can't go through a mud puddle without a fender rusting up. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Hobby 67-
I don't see half the rust on the 67-72's as some other years. As far as the "F" arguement is concerned, I distinctly remember my Great Uncle's 77 F-150 having to be completely re-etched at the ripe old age of 2 years. The paint peeled off like sheets of paper and Ford would do nothing for it. Besides....rust depends alot on where your truck has been all it's life. Northern vehicles play hell in the winter salts.

Believe it or not the truck was white. I was later told that "F" had problems in their metal preps for some of those trucks. The paint popped and flaked right off. Even after the entire truck had been etched, it never did take paint very well. ------------------
