hei pigtail
Do any of you know if the local autozone or napa would carry that little plastic conector that you use to connect the power line to the hei dizzy? I know you can just use a spade but like the secureity of the connector. Any way wondering if it worth a stop or not.

Re: hei pigtail
When I did my swap a couple years back I asked that very question. I was told they couldn't get it. However, my spade connectors for both the power wire and the tach are very secure and I actually have to try to get them off. Can't speak for all HEI dizzies, but mine are pretty snug.

Re: hei pigtail
O'Reilly's in this area carry them, as does the local John Deere dealer (farmer's use them to upgrade their old tractors).

Check the "Help" section in your local parts store.

Re: hei pigtail
I'm pretty sure NAPA used to carry them well maybe not in stock but they could get them it's been ten years or so since I worked there. So I would say it is at least worth a shot. BTW make sure they check the books not just the computer. If you find a good parts guy make freinds with him they sometimes are hard to come by if you know what I mean.

Re: hei pigtail
American Autowire has them part # 500190 for $1.50. they also have the kits to do alt upgrades, and headlight relay kits. Might as well upgrade those while your doing the HEI.

Re: hei pigtail
You could just go to the junk yard and snip one off.
If you look at the later model vehicles you can find the double one for hooking up a tach. |

Re: hei pigtail
I had the same problem. PO was using spade conectors but they came loose a couple of times and all I can say is he had more patience then I do. I looked all over and ended up going to the wrecker and got both the tach and power conectors. Remember to cut way back on the wire harness to remove them.
