? regarding my airbags & Leaking.
Do you normally lose air pressure after a period of time? I found myself having to refill my bags after it sat in the garage for a couple of weeks. They weren't totally out of air, just lower then they were when I parked it. Is this normal (like having to put air in your tires periodically) or do I have a leak that must be fixed? I had to put air in all four.
Obviously, there must be a slow leak somewhere. I don't have a compressor set up at the moment, I'm using 4 schrader valves presently. What is the best way to find the leak and where would you look first? In other words... where would they "most likely" be leaking air? Thanks, Jeff |

Re: ? regarding my airbags & Leaking.
Alot of systems will leak down over time but I have seen some that could go months at a time without loosing pressure. What type of fittings are you using? Also, I've found that using something like locktite instead of teflon tape helps.

You know... I was just thinking that the weather
here in VA has gone from mid 70's-low 80's back down to the 30's and 40's this week. Do you think that the temperature may have something to do with it? Thanks for the information!

Re: ? regarding my airbags & Leaking.
A temp change like that could result in quite a bit of pressure difference.

Re: ? regarding my airbags & Leaking.
I wish mine stayed aired up that long. I would take some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray everywhere there is a possibility of a leak. If there is on then you will see it easily. This is what SSD suggest to use on fittings.http://*****************/FittingsLoct...eadSealant.php

Re: ? regarding my airbags & Leaking.
My drivers front goes flat in about 3 days, my passenger rear goes FULL in about 8 hours. The fill leak is from the valve not fully seating. I need to replace the valve, I just haven't.

Re: ? regarding my airbags & Leaking.
You may just be able to clean the valve. What kind of valve is it?

I have spent WAY too much time chasing leaks in this system that I nearly pulled everything out.

Re: ? regarding my airbags & Leaking.
They should not leak down. I leave my truck aired up all the time since I want to know about a leak "before" I get on the road. It's always just like I left it...

Re: ? regarding my airbags & Leaking.
my pressure doesn't change, it stays up for weeks, but my truck is just being rolled in and out of the garage. you should be able to have a leak free system...
