Displacement #'s???
i have no idea how you figure out what your displacement is after an overbore/stroke increase. i brought it up while talking to a guy at work about his 454... ahem... his 468. he said he had a .060" overbore. i asked him what my displacement would be in my 454 and he said itd be a 462 (mine is .040 over). ive also heard of a 383 and a 386 stroker sbc. wtf dude? sorry if i ask dumb questions but im trying to learn here
anyone? |

Re: Displacement #'s???
383 is a standard 350 block with with a 400 crank. the 400 crank has a longer stroke, therefore, more ci.
IRCC, the 386 is the exact same setup, but the engine has been bored out .030" |

Re: Displacement #'s???
so according to this chart my 454's stock 4.250" bore was increased .040" to 4.290". It also has a stroke of 4.000". Since cubic Inches = (Bore x Bore x Stroke x Number of Cylinders x .7854)
(4.290 x 4.290 x 4.000 x 8 x .7854) = 462.54656448 cubic inches. WAY COOL!! Last edited by tavenner13; 04-23-2007 at 12:14 PM. |
