1951 chevy exhaust
Hello, I am building a 1951 chevy truck on air bags. I have a Mustang II front clip and i am going to install a chevy Vortec 5.3L fuel injected motor. I want to put on some headers and I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have some mechanical skills but I am not the best at fabricating and re-routing any metal tubing which is why I would like to buy some that will bolt on and fit properly. I have never entered a forum like this before but I have already read some useful information and i hope I can one day provide some as well. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Re: 1951 chevy exhaust
I used some Hedman swept back shorty style headers for my 54 running 74 vintage V8. That style should work with your application as well. I had to bend mine in a bit tighter to the engine to clear my sub-frame but with a IFS kit you should not have that problem.

There is actually quite a bit of room. We are putting a big block in my dad's and we are using block huggers. So far they look like they are going to work.

Re: 1951 chevy exhaust
Welcome to a new form of knowledge!!!
I hope someone with the LS type engine can help you out. You might try Turnkey.com and ask them what kind of headers they supply with there street engines.

Re: 1951 chevy exhaust
Im screwed on headers right now. I'll get pics tomorow, but my stering wants to go right though my number 7 cylinders exhaust port. You deff need something that hugs the block.

Re: 1951 chevy exhaust
Yup. I'm using a cast iron header from Sanderson with a ceramic coating:
