what year truck had the 292
I'm going to the junk yard to look for power steering brackes,, what years did they make 292

67 till 82, at least I think 82 was the last year they cam in the trucks. Far as I know they were never in a car.

Actually, they have been around since 1963. They came mainly in 3/4 ton and up trucks and vans. The big difference was in the mid '70's when the intake was integrated into the head. I don't think the brackets from the integral head will fit the non integrated head models.

I didn't realize they did the 292 with an integrated head, thought it was only the 250.
The brackets for the power steering (nor any accessory) for the integrated head will not match up /work with stuff from the non-integrated head inliner, at least on the 250 they do not, so I assume they made the same differences for the 292.
