It's "finished"!

They're never completely finished, but mine is close enough. It's a '69 C-20 with a 292, and a granny gear 4-speed. I'm 16 and this truck was like a father-son project. We bought the truck last summer from the son of the original owner who had just passed away. The truck had been parked in a field since the late 80s. My dad and i worked on it all year. Got the 292 running smoothly, rebuilt the brakes, painted it myself, got the wheels off of a week old GMC 2500HD. Its so much more fun to drive than a modern vehicle, and it definately turns more heads. Tomorrow I have to go to court because I got a ticket for no inspection sticker. I had just got plates a couple weeks before and had only driven it to get new wheels and tires, and exhaust, getting it ready for inspection. But at least the cop complimented me on the truck. Here are some before and after photos.

Excellent Job!

I have the sister to it in my driveway!

I hope mine comes out as good.

Got any pictures of the interior? Is the Bed Wood?

Re: It's "finished"!

Don't worry Texas, it's still far from finished. This week I'm putting in electronic ignition, weatherstripping, and door sills. Later on down the road my dad really wants a sliding rear window, get the heater/defroster functional, a bed mat, tool box, and some other little odds and ends.

The bed is steel, it was rusted through in a few places so we got a patch panel from LMC and patched the holes. Here is an interior shot. I got the heavy duty floor mat from LMC, new dash pad, seat kit, steering wheel from a '93 Chevy. I cleaned and painted a lot of little peices, but the paint on the dash, glove box door, and roof is all original.

Put some antique vehicle plates on her and you wont need a inspection sticker.
