Anyone wish they had one back?
I was flipping through some old pics and realized how much I miss some of the 73-87's that i've had. Just curious how many of you guys sold one that you wish you had back. Lets see pics if you have them

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
I want my old 76 c10 back. My old man bought it for $400 and it was multi-colored, like a circus truck he called it. Had rotted out areas all over patched with tin, and big rivets all over the bed for the old tonneua covers. He ground thoose off, filled over their old work with fiberglass and bondo, and painted her with some cheap white. Had a straight 6 3 on the tree, that shifter kept popping out of gear so he converted to floor shift. kept getting bad clutches, blew up that straight 6 and another one, and finally went to a mild 350. Had a 305 for it but was junk. So we got a 350. Put that in and man did it scream, you couldn't keep tires on it, had a clutch style posi and 4.11's or something, man did it smoke tires off. it was a BEAST!!!!!!
We re-painted it a better white, but she was too far gone, besides, bed floor, cross sills, cross supports of the frame, cab floor gone, I mean all of it excet for the long supports that run front to rear, rockers were gone, the other cab supports gone, fender, innder fender, gone, firewall, GONE!!!, hood starting. When I say gone I mean missing or holes bigger then 6 inches. The firewall was the killer though, from passenger side door to the trans tunnel all the way across was missing about 2-3 inches tall. A huge softball sized one over the gas pedal by the trans tunnel too. Pulled the motor, put it in my monte carlo and let her go, guy was gona fix her, he had another cab, then said it was too much work for him, so last we heard he scraped her, haven't been back over to find out for sure if he did or not though. One of our buddies got the wheels and tires from it though, and we'd go get the rear end for our new c10 if he still had it, plus the clutch linkage parts and pedals, and maybe even the manual brake master cylinder. It was power steering, manual brakes, and heat only.

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
I wish I still had my 1981 K10. It was the most loaded truck I have ever owned and all of it was listed in the glovebox.
Bucket seats, power everything, tach cluster, 4 speed, dual tanks, posi, quad shocks, A/C Everything worked. I wasn't much to look at, but I drove it daily for over 4 years.

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
Mine was a 1979 GMC I had about 11-12 years ago. It was a black 2wd smallblock-powered shortbed... not much to look at but it is quickest vehicle I've owned to date.

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
My dad bought a 76 cheyenne swb/2wd new. I came along in '78, and spent nearly every weekend in that tuck, towing to/from dragstrips all over nc/sc/va. It was brown/beige (even tho 2wd, i told the other kids my dad had a fall guy truck ). He sold it when I was about 10 or 12 along with the race cars, b/c moms wanted us into baseball and horses (not racing). He did the Daddy thing and got us raised up and through college,, but as you can tell from the sig; it was too late: 110+ octane, burnt rubber, and wheelies get in your blood LOL.
So anyway,, I'd LOVE to have that 76 of his back. He did give me a fatherly when I brought my 454 '77 gmc home.

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
I miss my 75. The day i had to sell it I i promised myself that as soon as I got my crap together I would have another one. It had a 383 / 350 and 308 gears. That thing would scream. I have never seen it sense the day I sold it. I still think about her every day !!!
Any way here are a couple pictures I scanned in so the quality isn't that great.

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
heck ya I wish my 82 was still on the road.. wasnt fast or much to look at but I put alot of time into her and had alot of good memories. She got me through alot of places I didnt think she could.. and it finally wore her out. Never sold, just put out to pasture. The miss the 87 too, but only had it for a year before it got taken away so the memories werent there. I have had the 82 since Dec of '96.

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
For some odd reason I really don't have many photos of that truck.
The truck was built in 1984 or 85 and sold around 1988 or 89. That was the first truck I ever did body mods on. I can still remember how bad the tailgate warped when I filled it. Tossed it in the trash and filled another. It was a quick learning curve on welding thin sheet metal. Everyone gave me a hard time about painting the truck black. I figured "if I can get this looking right in black anything else I paint should be a snap!" Snap...snap...snap...snap.... I ended up shooting it twice before it was done. It was a cool truck for it's time. I truly miss it.

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
I wish I had my black 86 K-10 back. Had it since I was 18 (1993). I sold it to go to school. that was in 2000. I still see it every once in a while. Still on the road and , still has the same 383 in I put in it. The guy will not sell it for any thing.(can't say that I blame him) But I have my white one now and I am in the process of macking a clone of my old one. (except it is white)

Re: Anyone wish they had one back?
70 blazer 4wd 350 4 spd CST white green interior loaded with options purchased new. Poorest running 350 I've ever owned but I wish I still owned it.
78 C-10 swb 2wd 350 3 spd Fleetside very few options but one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Purchased new. Sold both and have always regretted probably with in a week. Have had my 79 GMC swb 2wd 305 High Sierra since 80 and plan on being buried in it. After having regretted selling the others I wouldn't sell this one even when I could have made a lot of money. I hooked.
