I was hoping someone could help me out. I am getting a false reading on my engine temp, the guage reads all the way in the red after a short drive, but checked the temp with a gun all around engine and radiator and nothing more than 190-200, so I am not overheating. I changed the gauge, sensor, thermostat, water pump and had radiator checked. So I do not know, would running a new wire from the sensor to gauge help at all, or is there anyway my circuit plate could be giving me trouble. HELP!

Sounds like you have an open in the wiring for the temp sensor. I believe an open would read full, hot; and a short to ground would read full cold.

OK, before you panic, check the most often found wiring gremlin on these trucks.Check the grounds. If one is bad or even has some resistance you could have a problem that seems like a bad sensor or wire.Bad grounds are so common on these trucks that I cannot beleive that that wasn't the firsst reply you got.
