Back-up lights don't work
The same friend that has the 78 also has an 83 gmc 1/2 ton 4x4 with a 6.2 and a 3 speed overdrive. I have been trying to get his back-up lights to work with no luck. There is not any power getting to the reverse switch. I was under the truck with a test light took the plug off the tranny and there is not any power at the pins. Are the back lights on a fuse or is there something else I am missing?

My lights don't work either, just put them on a switch then you can blind tailgaters too! Unless I figure out mine, thats what I'm contemplating.

Did you check the plugs at the base of the steering column?

Not sure on a standard but on a auto there is 2 plugs there. One for neutral safety switch(only allows starting neutral or park position) and the other is for backing up (lights up when in R)

My backup lights don't work either. I searched all over for the problem..coulnd't find it. So when I get some free time (hey nows a good time...since it's a snow/ice day), I plan on running new wire to the backup lights and putting a switch in.
