Need more heat! Help!
My coolant/thermostat/rad cap are all new. The heater core is clear and the rad is good. Just flushed/changed coolant. I have warm feet but thats about it. The blower works in all positions.
The truck currently has no carpet, do you think it makes a big difference? Also the vapor plastic isn't on the doors. but i dont really feel a draft. Could it be a combination of the factors?

On the floor do you have any kind of sound deadner? You know the underlaying for the carpet? If not then that's a big thing right there. I would get some to replace whats lost or even use old house carpet. Something to keep the metal covered.
On the thermostat what temperature setting did you get? I bet you have one that's too coldlike a 180 right? If so take it out and get a hotter one. I bet this is where your main problem is. You need one like a 195 for your cold climate. This will make the heater warm up more for sure. Vapor plastic?? If you don't have anything on the doors like panels then yes that would contribute as well. One more thing to think about is to check the heater panel door that opens when you slide the theromstat lever over. It may not be opening enough. If still not warm check your antifreeze coolant for what temp. protected to (pulling at straws here).

When sitting still can you feel heat coming out of the heater?
Is heating coming from the opening centered on the tranny hump? Is heat coming from the defrosters on top of the dash? I agree you should be running a 195 thermo. Its sounds to me like your fan isnt circlulating the heat, is this right? Are you sure the fan is coming on? There is two cables that mount to the back of the control panel. One cable opend the heat door and lets heat out of the center floor and maybe the a/c vents on the dash (i dont know for sure because I have a non-A/c truck. The other cable opens the defroster on the top of the dash. Check to make sure your fan is moving air, and check to make sure your heat doors and cables are all good.
