Re: header gaskets,,where to buy at a decent price

Copper is great, I have perwonally have been using the FEL-PRO haeder gaskets and a set last me until I need to take the exhasut off for some other reason. I have four vehicles that I have thenm on and the gaskets are good quality. I back the header install up with "Teflon Tape" on the threads of the header bolts. That keeps them from backing out and I don't have to spend a large amount of money on special fasteners to hold the bolts. The bolts stay where you set them. It also makes it so the header bolts will come out without any rust of corrosion on them.

You won't be sorry and the teflon stands up to heat.

Re: header gaskets,,where to buy at a decent price

I was continually getting leaks and blow-outs with the "kevlar" ones that came with the headers. I started using the standard manifold gaskets from Fel-pro and haven't had any problems?

Re: header gaskets,,where to buy at a decent price

I'll second the opinions on Felpro gaskets at the heads and the Percy's aluminum collector gaskets. I have cheapo Dynomax long tubes on my daily driver and have no problems.

Re: header gaskets,,where to buy at a decent price

We carry Percy's dead soft aluminum ones and you will never have to buy another pair. They are $30.95 plus the ride. Nothing better out there.

Re: header gaskets,,where to buy at a decent price

I've had the same problem, the paper ones that are cheap suck.

I used the fel-pro exhaust manifold ones and they work GREAT!!!!! I had no leaks at all whatsoever. Only time I'd need to change them is if I had the header off or pipes disconnected for some reason.

They even have the old 3 bolt collector ones the same way. They are fel-pro part no. 2001.

The exhaust maniolfd gaskets themselves for the set are...

MS 9275 B from fel-pro.

I just bought a set today to put on my monte carlo from autozone.
They are $6.99 for the manifold set and $8.18 or $15.99 at advanced, have no idea why they have 2 the same number but higher priced.
