86 vs 1987 Fuel Injection - Cab differences?
Have an 86 gas (carb), and 87 diesel . Looking at 87 FI V6. Understanding the air/nonair difference, what else is different on the 87 cab to enable fuel injection? And would my diesel cab have the same items? 87 FI cab is rough, considering swapping 86 cab if little rework is required. Thanks!

there is no cab difference on EFI vs non-EFI, the ECU for the carb mounts in the same place as the TBI ECU...

Great. How about the diesel cab? Did they plug the ECM wriring hole? Or use it for the glow plug controller and such? Manuals are coming but trying to decide if I should build 1 nice or 3 drivers. Thanks again.

Big difference between the trucks in the fuel lines. TBI lines are different than carbed lines.

You also want the gas tanks and all associated wiring. Those TBI tanks have the in tank electric pump with the correct fuel pressure for TBI.

Re: 86 vs 1987 Fuel Injection - Cab differences?
Yes, only cab differences. I'd forgot about ECM and carb (went from 82 gas to 87 diesel with 2 1990's and '99 in between). I'm pretty uup on the fuel systems and such, but the diesel is new to me. I can't imagine there are significant difference sin the cabs but thought I'd try to find out before getting started - usually I find out when everything is apart and undriveable.

Re: 86 vs 1987 Fuel Injection - Cab differences?
On the Diesel, it should be any different either. I can't remember where the glow harness comes out, but I don't thing the hole is there. Don't quote me on that...
