Re: swapping to 6 lug
The spring perches and shock mounts will need moved atleast.Easiest way would be to swap in a 73+ 1/2 ton 4wd ( 6 lug) rear axle.It would be a bolt in job no cutting or welding required

Re: swapping to 6 lug
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong,.... but doing that swap would be going backwards....kinda. IIRC the 64 will have drum brakes on the front and your truck has disks. As was said before, you would have to modify the rear axle too...the 64 has coil springs and your truck will have leaf springs on the back. Best bet would be to find a newer truck and raid the parts off it.

Re: swapping to 6 lug
my blazer is a 2wd w/ drum brakes... i have 22 inch rims 6 lug from my tahoe(lease return) boyd coddingtons just sitting around and trying to make them work.
my thought was axle's and drums from rear of 64 to put in they are both 12 bolt rears 2nd front are both drum brakes so was wondering if hub/drum would bolt on. not whole rear end just axles and drums thanks for info so far sorry i didnt give all info Last edited by 762wdblazer; 08-08-2007 at 09:07 AM. |

Re: swapping to 6 lug
your 76 should not have drums on the front.

Re: swapping to 6 lug
Sell the rims and use the proceeds (plus a little more) to get what you need rather than doing a backwards swap around
