Anyone know anything about this truck?

Never heard of one before, anyone here have?

It was sent to me by a visitor of 73-87.com, he owns it and is looking for more info.

We know it is a '77 (based on the gold trim)...and I am guessing it was a regional/dealership package...but that's about it.

Thanks!

Re: Anyone know anything about this truck?

Does the VIN reflect the 1977 date. You could get gold in 1975 on a Gentleman Jim....

BTW, I know nothing about it, but would like to know more.

Cool Re: Anyone know anything about this truck?

I'v never seen or heard of that one before but i sure like that li'l snake on wheel's.

Funny thing is the truck says Sidewinder but thats a Rattler.

Sounds like something that would have been offered in the western states like a desert package type thing.

RPO codes? Engine size and tranny?
The owner needs to save that poor old truck.

Re: Anyone know anything about this truck?

I'm a sucker for disco era paint schemes. If in my hands I would be restoring it to stock and having the graphics put back on. Hope that truck doesn't have to sit there and rot much more.

My 77 GMC Sierra Grande has the yellow trim. I've always seen black on the Chevy's.

Re: Anyone know anything about this truck?

The bed rails and mirrors are easy to replace. Imagine that truck with a BB or sleeper FI 400 HP motor.

Re: Anyone know anything about this truck?

While the graphics may be "tacky" by todays standards, they weren't back in the 70's. In 30 years people may be scratching their heads as to why we liked the trends of today. I like it for it's unique-ness, and would drive it today it it were road worthy and of course a little more presentable.

So far nobody know anything about this animal huh?

All 77's GMC AND Chevys had the yellow insert. As Chris stated above the yellow insert was also available on Gentlemen Jim package for years beyond 77. I "think" the Beau James had it too.

Re: Anyone know anything about this truck?

I guy where I work has a late 70's model Ford truck with the exact same graphics on it. I thought it was a Ford thing. Looks factory on his truck too.

Re: Anyone know anything about this truck?

Those 3 point mirrors look factory to me. Those early year trucks had those type of mirrors on them, it was not till like 79 or 80 they went to the big base and single arm.

Re: Anyone know anything about this truck?

Mirrors are normal for 73-79 trucks. 1980 was the first year for the below eyeline (dumbo) mirrors.
