my 86 c10 swb build thread (56k, no way)
so i decided i would start a build thread. it wont be an eventful one so don't get your hopes up. but i wanted to hear everyones opinions, advise, critisism
that is the truck. the front is bagged using the ***************** upper plates and modded lower control arms with slam he-7 bags. i made these so far the first pic is how is of my crossmember that i made to mount my wishbone to. the second is my notches. i made them 11 inches tall but i dont think i made them big enough. nothing is welded so dont tell me they are crooked. lol. at first i was going to do a wishbone like this. but i dont think i can get that under the bed floor. so i was thinking about curving the bars like an s ____/- < like that. sorry thats such a bad visualization. but i think it will let me clear my bed floor. i want to do a bag on bar setup using my stock leaf spring mount. i will get a pic of that when i get home. my short term plans: -3 link/notch the back -add lower cups cause my bags rub -drop spindles -replumb the front so i can hop way higher. i have dual port bags but the second port is plugged -add tanks under my cab like the kp truck long term plans: -EDC -porterbuilt dropmember in the front. -22/24 combo (maybe 24's all aound) -stock floor b/d to the rocker. -art arms or custom built ones -hit switches, get bi#@hes my inspiration this will be a slow build because i go to school full time mon-thursday and i work every friday saturday and sunday. i'm trying to get someone to show me how to weld so i can really get this build going. any input is welcome |

Re: my 86 c10 swb build thread (56k, no way)
oh. one thing i forgot is there are a million other thing that are going to be done but this will only be on suspension because that is what i will to do myself. paint, body, drivetrain, stereo are not on me. on another note, the pics of my truck are from saturday, and sunday, my sis crashed her eclipse in to my front end. no worries. i have an extra front clip but i didnt want to use it on this truck.

Good luck with the build, it looks like you have a nice truck to start with. I'm not quite understanding you bar visualization thing, do you plan on having curved or bent link bars?
