HELP! Problem with rear leaf conversion kit?

HELP! I ordered this kit from CPP:

We have the brackets on the driver's side, and went to test fit the spring before drilling the rest of the holes... and the spring is WAY too short. Did we do something wrong? Did they send us the wrong parts? Is it my truck that's the problem????

I haven't installed that kit before but........try taking the front perch and moving it to the other side........use the notch in the plate and put it over the rear "stamping" on the frame..........looks like it might give you the spacing you need,,,,

We thought to try that, but if you do you lose the ability to "reuse" the top holes from the original mount. All the instructions --- the crappy ones that come with the kit and the magazine article installing it --- specifically say "reuse" the top two holes on each bracket...

I would measure the length of the leaf and call the company and ask them how long the leaf should be and that you think they sold you the wrong one.

I think it is the wrong spring.
Your seem to be installed in the correct place,
but the middle of the spring is not even under
the place where the axle used to be.
I would call cpp.
Btw, the instructions that came with my IFS,
where as good as yours ....

Looks like you have your brackets swapped over from the CPP tech sheet page:

Look closely at pictures 14 and 15.

Good eye robin58, I enlarged the pictures and they are on the wring sides. The bracket cut out goes over the rearward out dent on the frame not the front out dent in the frame. The fatter part of the bracket should be directly under the ebrake cable bracket with the thinner part facing toward the back of the frame. Picture eleven shows it if you can blow it up.

Dos this kit ride on top of the housing like stock or under it like a "flip kit" set up? If it rides on top, would the truck be too low if you "fliped it"?
