Hard to find brake parts.

Hey Gang,
I need some help finding some hard to find brake parts. I knew I needed rear parking brake cables for both sides of my truck. Last night I thought I’d have a look at the rear brakes to see if I needed anything else. Boy do I! No actuating lever, rod, or spring. Looks like the guy who had this truck never planned on having a parking brake again. LMC doesn’t have these parts. I can find cables, but that’s it. Could one of you kind souls please lead me in the right direction? On a good note, I’m going to pick up my gas tank today and I’m ready to install it. I was hoping I could go get my truck inspected Sat, but it’s got to have a parking brake here in Ohio, and most likely everywhere else. I brought this truck in from down south and they go over out of state cars pretty well.
Thanks for the help,
Tim

Re: Hard to find brake parts.

If you are at the bone yard anytime soon, you should be able to take some from a 70's chevy truck. Knowing chevy they were the same though out the years.. I used 1975 brake parts in my 1972 rear end..

Re: Hard to find brake parts.

I was thinking maybe some of these parts were used on multiple years. Does anyone know what year cars and trucks used the same brake parts as my 63'? Must be some kind of GM list that says what year parts fit what.

Here are some wheel bearings http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...pe=184&PTSet=A
and some front brake shoes http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...pe=219&PTSet=A

And if you spend like $50 the shipping is free..

Re: Hard to find brake parts.

Spending $50 on these trucks is easy. I thing the front shoes for the 63 were $27 alone... New water pump, $60. New master cylinder, $65 dollars before core charge. Having a streetable truck again... priceless.
