No one that I know of, though I have thought about it. Should be PLENTY strong. The problem is getting it in. If you use one from an f-body, you have the hydraulic slave/clutch to adapt. You also will only be able to use buckets as the shifter location will be too far back for a bench. Finally, you'll have to either use an electric tach or get an adapter. Or you could use the aftermarket t56 which will solve all of those except shifter location but it's around $2000-2500. If you're willing to do some fabbing and adapting and use buckets, it WILL be SWEEEET in every way.
Btw, where is Paradise?

If you get one from an f-body, get one out of a 93-97. The LS1 has a diffent bolt patern and crank position than the standard small block, reqiring a custom bellhousing that I doubt anyone makes. The LT1 t-56 should essentially just bolt up (except for the things mentioned above)

Ack is right, the LT1 ones will fit much easier. You should also avoid 93 models if possible. They will work but are a touch weaker and have funky gears. The 94-97 ones would be best. You'll also need a special flywheel (Centerforce makes an adapter) if your engine is the older (85 and back) 2 piece rear main.

you could probably use a stock shifter and just make a longer stick for it pretty easily. Or use an aftermarket shifter and put a longer stick on it. The aftermarket shifter would keep the throw down with the longer stick.

My pickup had a three speed on the tree until I lost 2nd gear.
Will I need a high hump for the transmission to fit? Any Ideas? Ben |

Since you can probably pick up a high hump pretty cheap, I'd get one to have on hand and resell it if not needed. My guess is - tall hump, since the 4 speed trucks came with high humps (along with TH400s and 4x4s, if I remember right from other posts).
