Alternator replacement?
Hey Guys,
My charging system is over charging @ around 15v. I’m guessing the voltage regulator is to blame for this. I have no way of knowing how old the alternator is so I was thinking of replacing both with a GM10SI from Summit. This is the 1 wire type. They don’t offer anything for my engine 230ci just V8’s. Will this alternator work on my 6cyl? They have a choice of 100 or 140 amp. Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim |

Re: Alternator replacement?
I have the 100 amp. It is a simple install, and should work with your six cylinder. I might add, that if you had big plans in the future for lots of electrical updates, like air, seats, electric fan, and so on, you might want to consider the 140 amp, other wise the 100 amp should be more then enough.
