Going from shackles/hangers to flip kit...

In the constant evolution of my 84 C10, I am thinking about going lower...

I currently have shackles and hangers and one overload leaf removed, but am constantly bottoming out the truck and have no towing ability. That leaves me thinking about doing a flip kit with a bolt-on C-Notch and putting the overload leaves back in.

What will I need to do? Replace my hangers and shackes with factory pieces? I currently have spindles in the front and would like to go to a 4/6 or 5/7 drop, any suggestions?

Re: Going from shackles/hangers to flip kit...

I would just replace the drop hangers with stockers...and see if it is too low (with the flip kit installed), if it is, then replace the shackles too.

I did the exact same thing on my 73 you are contemplating doing...but I kept the drop shackles to go along with the flip.

Very nice... Thanks for the help...

What size tires are you using?

I currently have 245/60's and 275/60's and like the look of yours.

It is so weird that you posted this. I am thinking about doing the exact same thing. I was laying under the rear end this weekend eyeballing everything. I think my rear tire are going to rub the fender well though.
