Anybody know or can reccommend someone who refurbishes factory radio's? I have a AM-FM I want to get rebuilt for my 72.
Thanks, Alan |

Re: Factory Radio
It can be pretty expensive to restore them. Some years ago I did a search on the internet and found a few that were in the $250 to $300 range for AM only. From the info that I found, they did a superb job of restoration.
I'll see if I can find the site and post it. |

Re: Factory Radio
Check with your local Chevy dealer. They can most likely recommend a Delco radio repair facility in your area.

Re: Factory Radio
This site rings a bell... Might check with him to see if he can do it for you. I'm thinking of calling him to recone my original speaker for my AM radio.
Wish I could find an AM/FM radio for my truck. Good luck. http://www.nostalgiasounds.com/ |

Re: Factory Radio
no offense but you should try the search box up top (use this site button)...
You'll find threads like this and others on the subject of factory replacements vs custom http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=232123 Also, under forum, there's a section - Truck Audio which has a lot of useful info Last edited by Mondo; 11-17-2007 at 12:37 AM. |

Re: Factory Radio
You would have to ship it to them, but I have been using a local authorized GM/AC/Delco repair shop here in town (Portland, OR.) called Ed's Auto & Electric, they have been in the repair business longer than the factorys have been installing Am/Fm's. They have refurbed several hard to find GM factory radio's for me with a couple of them being pretty rough & ratty ebay finds, they have also repaired a few of my hard to find GM factory tachometers that were not functioning correctly. I have been very happy with their service, prices and turn around times on every job the have handled for me. They are currently working on restoring my 67 impala Am/Fm/multiplex four speaker system, when you call ask for ernie, Cb
