Re: camper special update (old yeller)
Thanks everyone. Well i'll probably will be selling it back to my son since his 01 was in an accident last week and there is a possibility that it may be totaled. It, the 78, was his before I bought it from him, just couldn't pass it up. He bought some leather seats last night and he's going to be installing them next so look forward to more post.
Tom

Re: camper special update (old yeller)
Only thing I would do is either paint the hood the same ocher color, or put some pimpin' hood stripes on to kind of transition it from the yellow to the white
I'm running the same steelies on my truck, and personally think they look fantastic on these old rigs!

We've been kicking that idea around but the center paint was a sand color and now that we have gone to white were not quite sure what colors to use, I may have to have someone photoshop some stripe w/ different color schemes to see what works best. Or paint the whole hood yellow, we just noticed the painter tried to fix a flw in the paint the first time he painted and after fixing it he partially painted it the same white, but you can see the transisiton so he may have to paint it yellow for us.

Re: camper special update (old yeller)
I agree about the hood and I have a dumb question as well. Is it 2wd? I cant see a diff and it looks like it may be judging by the hubs. I didnt think you could put that big of a tire on a 2wd. thanks

Re: camper special update (old yeller)
Looks like a 2wd to me
This is far from perfect, but gives you a good idea of what each option could look like Maybe it is just me, but I like the hood stripes best! Maybe cause they came from a picture of my truck

Re: camper special update (old yeller)
Thanks Russel, that gives me an idea, that is the way this one was before we changed the center & hood, here's a pic from last winter. Trouble were having is the sand color blended the brown and yellow together, the white makes it seem to stand out more. Guess I'm just to picky and need to make a decision

Re: camper special update (old yeller)
The wheels and tires make it look bad @ss. I think the stripes are cool, but it would look cleaner with the hood painted solid yellow.

Re: camper special update (old yeller)
That is one awesome truck. It reminds me of my father's 77 Chevy. Same color with the stripes.
I think if you do anything to blend the colors it should be the stripes. Not only b/c it breaks up the colors but it has a nostalgic feel to it. (I might be bias though since I was 5 when my father had his truck.) |
