Winches
So... I want a winch on my truck but I still want the stock front bumper. Are there any pics of winches mounted under the front end with plenty of clearance? another thought was some type of hinge on the license plate to flip up or down and run the cable through a hole hacked into the bumper? I don't know? Ideas?

Re: Winches
How about brands... I've seen a lot of the "mile markers" but wonder about quality? Should I just buck up and pay for the Warn?

Re: Winches
You could mount a hitch to the front of your truck and use one of these:
http://www.4wheelparts.com/PPT2984.aspx I don't think there is anything wrong with the quality. Could probably have one made by a local shop if you were worried about it. Greg |

Re: Winches
Been thinking of putting 1 in front of my tahoe in a similar way. Mount behind bumper, stock bumper cut out for roller fairlead to poke through. Mount a front plate to a pair of maglite clamps, they just snap to the rollers!
