I am a newbie here too and it seems like fixing the rust yourself is your best bet for doing it on the cheap. Most patch panels can be had for very cheap from site supporting vendors. You will still need a welder if you don't have one or have access to one and ebfabman makes videos to show how to do rust repair on these trucks. I would try a junk yard or craigslist for the wheels for cheap.

Best bet for wheels is junkyard, for checking on vendors, click on the link in my signature and it will give yo a list of the vendors (near the bottom of the list) that support the board

Re: 70 Chevy C10, want gd dlydrvr

ty a lot the best I think is Christians Classics and he's relatively close to me. I already tried e-bay etc. for the wheels but don't find anythin. I guess the new Chevy wheels are too different to fit my truck. does any1 kno about this?

if you're looking for a reliable daily driver i think your little money would be better spent on brakes and suspension rather than wheels//to me about the best money you can spend on any vehivle is the factory service manual available on ebay and from most vendors at around $25

Yes, the late-model six lug wheels will not fit on our trucks. The center bore of the newer wheels is too small to fit on our drums / rotors. Now one could take the wheels to a machine shop and have the center bore hogged out, but for the cost of this you'd be able to find a nice set of right-fitting rims.

here's a pic of newer Suburban wheels on my 69. You do need spacers and skinny tires to fit.
2nd pic is a set of OEM 15 x 7 rims you need to buy from me!

sry i would buy those tires but they're what ive got now. but i have one bent so i need to replace only 1 for now. after that then ill think about cragars or something else unreasonable down the road cdowns thanks for the tip about brakes and susp. wrk b4 wheels. that really makes sense for what i really want. retodd dont you get a bumier ride frm those spacers?

Re: 70 Chevy C10, want gd dlydrvr

I never noticed a bumpier ride from the spacers. All they do is place the rim farther out from the hub, they don't affect the suspension at all.

Where did you get these. I'm having to think a bit differently, b/c i can't find any spare tires anywhere.
