Re: dropping my 65 gmc
Cheap and safe usually don't go together.Front coils and drop spindles and rear drop leafs are the way to go and the way I will be goin when I do it.
You could cut the front springs and take a few leafs out if you wanted to though |

Re: dropping my 65 gmc
Depends on how it was optioned. IIRC, GMC were leaf w/coils optional & Chevys were coil w/leafs (leaves?) optional.

Re: dropping my 65 gmc
probably a 2/4 if that sounds right. still green behind ears. not sure about tire combo. I like nice thick tires instead of low profiles.

Re: dropping my 65 gmc
Flip kit nets more 'useful' drop per dollar. Dropped leafs tend to lose cargo capacity while a flip kit maintains the same capacity as long as adequate clearance is there for axle travel.
Dropped springs up front is the simplest route until you want disc brakes, then go drop spindles.
